A Happy Moment..........

HE DID IT!

Zach has graduated twice in the same year. Both momentous occasions.
He graduated high school in May.

TODAY he graduated from occupational therapy!!!!!
He/we are quite pleased with the end result having gone thru such an ordeal after slipping on the ice. At the time of surgery our doctor said he would lose 20% of his mobility in that wrist. We are happy to report he has lost a little less than 20%!!!!!!!!!!

Woo Hoo! Yippee Skippee!! Hooray!!

My hat is off to you, Zach!! You have reached near the end of the road that we could not see in April when we were sitting in Dr. M's office the first time. A halt got put on all your plans just as you were ready to spread your wings and soar. What should of been the ordinary fracture turned into a big deal when a small piece of bone started to decay.
Thankfully we were put in the right hands of a great doctor at Mayo Clinic.
Thankfully the surgery was a success and all went well.
Thankfully you had a therapist that knew how to work that wrist that had been immobile for 6 months.

But, thanks to you, Zach, for doing the work and taking the time to get it done.

We still have one more appointment to go to in November where we hope the final ct scans and xrays will be taken. In August at our last visit with the doc he was still somewhat concerned about the small bone and wanted to give it a few months to heal completely and have solid bone growth around it.

But getting through the therapy and having the results we were hoping for is something to be very thankful for!!!!!!!

Praise be to Him.

This is Zach's arm at the time of surgery. I wanted pics of his arm and leg now but he's one of those kids that is always on the move.

Good grief those boys of yours are a rough & tumble bunch.

I bred geeks so we got through the teen years without injury. If you don't count the fact that they both wear glasses. Sitting in front of a computer will do that to you.

Good luck to Zach.

Michele's comment had me giggling and snorting and gasping and rolling on the floor.

"bred geeks"

Oh my word.... it starts again!

LOL!

I'm glad he graduated (twice) and is on the mend with the arm. Goodness -- what an ordeal!

Blessings!
